Week 2, Day 3

Today the kids finished building the last of the framing for the walls of the Tiny House. Everything ran smoothly and we are now ready to hoist the walls onto the deck to erect the skeleton of the Tiny House. A reporter and photographer from The Capital Gazette came by to interview us and write a article about the Tiny House project. The kids got a chance to share their views on the project as well as some of the volunteers. You can view this article from The Capital in the link here:

Week 2, Day 2

June 23rd, 2015

Today the architect behind tiny house came in to talk to the kids about reusable and Eco-friendly building materials. After that the kids worked on putting together the rest of the framing for the walls of the tiny house. The kids learned how to install the headers and studs that support the wall in this process, and got some hands on experience using the chop saw. Today’s final product was perfect thanks to the continued hard work of the kids!
